ACSA Senior Grade 6: Climate Change (speech)

The ASCA Senior Grade 6 (SG6) examination is a prerequisite for the Certificate of Communication if the candidates are under 16 years of age.

SG6 includes 5 sections in total, which are listed below:

  • a 6-minute "personal project" on a significant topic which requires some intensive research

  • a newspaper article reading aloud, followed by an impromptu exchange

  • a 4-minute memorised prose, poem, or drama

  • an impromptu reading of prose and poem to be chosen by the Examiner

  • a spoken theory exam


Section 1


For my section 1 "personal project", I chose to present a speech on the topic of climate change as shown below. This speech is adapted from a article/report I wrote in late 2017, titled "Should Australia Amend in Response to Climate Change", also attached in PDF format.
